| BloodTyping.com is dedicated
to protecting your privacy on this web site. The privacy that we extend to our web
browsing guests is exactly that which we expect when we surf the internet. You can expect
the same standard of privacy protection for your personally identifiable information on
BloodTyping.com that we extend in every other interaction. BloodTyping.com's policy on privacy is in accordance with the
Direct Marketing Association's Marketing Online Privacy Principles, and as agreed upon by the Online
Privacy Alliance, the leading
association devoted to promoting and developing online and internet services world wide.
PERSONALLY VOLUNTEERED INFORMATION.
Only on a voluntary basis do we collect personal information from our visitors.
Personally identifiable information may include name, address, e-mail information, credit
card information (in the case of electronic commerce only), etc. The personally
identifiable information that you may volunteer is used to fulfill your request, provide
you with information or to market products, events, and/or services which may be of
interest. These offers may come directly from us, from our affiliates or from other
reputable organizations whose privacy policies are precisely in line with those of
BloodTyping.com. Each offer that may be made is carefully examined to ensure that it meets
our high standards. Additionally, every effort is made to be sure that these offers reach
only those individuals most likely to be interested in them. If your personally
identifiable information is to be used in any fashion other than outlined above, the
intent will be expressly stated on this web page. The standard question that is applied to
all after-visit contact and/or correspondence here at BloodTyping.com is, "would I
like to receive this?"
OTHER PERSONAL INFORMATION. Our
web server is programmed to collect the domain names (not the e-mail addresses) of
visitors to our web sites. This information is aggregated to measure basic usage data such
as the number of visits, average time spent on the web site as well as each web page, and
the pages reviewed, etc., which is used by BloodTyping.com to improve the content of our
web sites. This information is never shared with persons or companies outside of our
organization.
COOKIES.
"Cookies" may be used on some pages of our web site to assist us in better
serving our visitors each time that they may return for a visit to a web site. A cookie is
a small piece of information that our web servers send to your browser and that is stored
on your computer. That small piece of information allows our servers to say, "Aha. We
have seen this person before," and it also allows servers to remember things about
your past interaction with the site, like, "This person told us that they like to see
the temperature in Celsius, not Fahrenheit." For your better understanding of the
term, we have provided a detailed and non-technical DEFINITION of COOKIES. The cookies used by BloodTyping.com contain only the
information that you submit to BloodTyping.com via our Guestbooks, in addition to the
browser collected information obtained as you move from page to page on our sites. You
therefore have control over the information that is stored in the cookie. Remember, you
can always set your browser to warn you before a cookie is sent to you. This will give you
more and much better control over the cookies process.
The data collected from these cookies helps
us in analyzing browsing patterns of our visitors so that the content and design of our
web sites can be improved. The information collected as a result of this cookie process is
for the exclusive use of BloodTyping.com and its direct affiliates, and will not be shared
with others.
LOG FILES. Almost every
time that you visit any web site, web servers 'log' your interaction with the site in
something called a log file. Standard log files like ours contain basic information such
as times of page visits, what pages were viewed, and the IP address of the visitor. This
information is used to analyze trends, administer the site, track movement around our web
site, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. No effort is made to
relate an IP address with an individual visitor.
When we share log file information with our advertisers, partners, or anyone else, it is
done only in aggregate format. For example, "Our average visitor looks at x number of
pages on each visit."
If our online data files include personally identifiable information about you, you are
always able to update that information. Please see the contact information below.
NEWSLETTERS. Should a
visitor wish to subscribe our newsletters, we request basic demographic information. We
use this information to learn more about the kind of tools those requesting the newsletter
may most wish to receive. In the future, that volunteered demographic information may be
used to send content that may be of interest to you. For example, to our subscribers in
Japan, we may send news on features that we have on the subject of Blood, relating to
Japan in particular.
Should you choose not to provide any information other than your e-mail address, you will
still be able to benefit from the extended courtesy services of BloodTyping.com.
SURVEYS and CONTESTS. From
time to time, BloodTyping.com may request information from visitors via surveys or
contests. Participation in these surveys or contests is completely voluntary, and the
visitor therefore has a choice as to whether or not to disclose any information at all.
Information requested may include contact information (such as name and shipping address),
demographic information (such as zip code and age range), and more subjective questions
about how you use our web site. With surveys, the information that you give us will not be
associated with you, and that information will only be aggregated and used to allow us to
monitor and improve the use and satisfaction of the site. We may also share this
aggregated information.
As for contests, contact information will
be used to notify the winners and award prizes. We may stage contests in conjunction with
sponsors. When this is the case, we may wish to share the information that you give with
that contest sponsor, but if this is the case, you will be clearly notified.
CHILDREN. BloodTyping.com
does not intentionally collect any personally identifiable information from individuals
that may be under eighteen years of age. If and where appropriate, BloodTyping.com will
specifically instruct children not to submit information. If you are a child under 13
years of age, you should not submit any information to us, or for that matter, you should
not submit any information to any web site without your parents' knowledge and permission.
If a child has provided information, a parent or guardian of that child should contact us,
should they wish this information deleted. A reasonable effort will be made to delete that
childs information from our existing files, should such information in fact be in
our files.
In accordance with the Children's
Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998 (COPPA), BloodTyping.com does not, at any time, knowingly collect
information from, or market our products to, children under the age of 13.
PARENT/GUARDIAN. We at
BloodTyping.com strive to provide a safe online environment. However, to ensure the safety
of children and to monitor their activities, we encourage parents to get involved when
your kids go online, so that you can be aware of what they are seeing, and learning. We do
not market via our web sites or by direct marketing to children under 13 years of age.
BloodTyping.com adheres to the principles of the Internet Content Rating Association.
OTHER. The information
that you may from time to time provide to BloodTyping.com is not rented or sold to, or
shared in any way with third party data compilation services. We may make the postal
addresses of our visitors available to other reputable organizations whose products or
services we think that you might find interesting. If you do not want us to share this
information, you are given the opportunity to decline.
LINKS. BloodTyping.com
attempts to post links to web sites which have a similarly high respect for your privacy.
However, we are not responsible for the content or the privacy practices that may be
employed by other web sites. Should you have a problem with privacy on any web site to
which we link, please let us know by sending an e-mail to us by using our CONTACT FORM.
SECURITY. BloodTyping.com
takes reasonable measures to keep all personally identifiable information about our online
visitors secure against unauthorized access. Security measures and internet security
standards of all of the internet web pages that we publish or control are periodically
reviewed.
ONE FINAL NOTE. The
internet is an evolving medium. If we change our privacy standards or Privacy Policy
Statement at some point in the future, we will post the changes on this page before they
take effect. There will be no notice of change in policy.
